SECURMARK :: SHOULD YOU DO IT?
SECURMARK :: SHOULD YOU DO IT?

This article describes why we don't securmark outboards or boats at Goldfish.

When you insure your Goldfish most insurance companies (at least in Norway) will ask you if the engine is Securmarked. None of our builds or engines is marked that way.

Both engine and hull have unique identification marks as standard, and the identity is easy to establish when/if the boat is found.

Some engine manufacturers would consider securemarking as a breach of their warranty terms and therefore annul the warranty.  Reason: breaching the corrosion shield.

The only advantages as we at Goldfish see it is that you might get a cheaper insurance.

If it worth it is up to you. It is unfortunately not something we can assist you with.
